Spooky, but true! Happy Halloween

Something spooky for Halloween! I'm from an old historic town in Michigan called Clarkston. It was established in 1832, before Michigan was even a state. Some of the cemeteries there are filled with very old tombstones.

It was September 30th, 2008 and the weather was miserable for shooting photos. Nothing was inspiring me except for one of the big, flaming sugar maple trees planted in the cemetery. To my surprise, photographing trees can be kind of tough with gravestones in the way. So, as it started to rain, I left for my car.

As I was pulling out, one single gravestone out of hundreds was calling me over. I ran out, took a quick shot, and got back in my car to head home. Going through a handful of images captured that night, I was able to take a harder look at the stone. WILLIAM ROBERTS was the name of the deceased. He had died September 30th, 1878, 130 years to the day that I noticed him.
